Some animals
will have no problem in making the transition. Others might need a little
persuasion. By others, I mean cats! Most dogs will transition quickly; cats as we all know can
be a bit more finicky. You can try doing a
gradual switch - start by mixing a small
amount with the food they have been eating and slowly increase the new food
while decreasing the old. Go slowly
with older animals and those with health problems. The switch can take several days to several
weeks, you’ll have to observe your animal and be the judge. You can also entice a reluctant animal by
sprinkling something tasty on top. Some
suggestions include: Nutritional
yeast, fish or seaweed flakes, parmesan cheese, yogurt or whatever their favorite treat might be. |

FEEDING & HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS
It’s best to
thaw Companion Animal Meals in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
They can safely be left out to defrost in the sink or on the counter top for several hours
or in warm/hot tap water for 30-45 minutes. It is best not to put in the microwave as this tends to destroy some of the valuable live
enzymes but will still be far superior to processed foods. Do not leave food out between
feedings. Defrost only as much as your
animal will eat within a day or two, keep the rest frozen until ready to use. Handle as you would any raw meat
product; wash your hands and feeding bowls with hot soapy water. |
